- Amy Macpherson
- Amy completed a Bachelor of Dance at the Victorian College of the Arts receiving the Joy Nichols Award for Outstanding Achievement (2005) and the Dr Philip Law Travel Scholarship (2007). She worked with KAGE on FORKLIFT, touring to Sydney International Arts Festival 2014, the Arts Centre Melbourne, Australian Performing Arts Market, Brisbane, HOOPLA Festival, Darling Harbour and Glow Festival. Amy has worked for Legs on the Wall (Symphony), Buzz Dance Theatre (Thrill, Restless, Fragile), Opera Australia (The Ring Cycle), Luke George, Theo Adams and Cadi McCarthy & Company (That Place In Between). She is part of the Australia Council for the Arts’ 2014 JUMP mentorship program and is mentored by Narelle Benjamin. Amy is Co-Director of dance collective Phantom Limbs, touring works to the Adelaide and Melbourne Fringe Festivals, Theatre Works and QL2 Centre for Youth Dance, Canberra. Phantom Limbs’ most recent work TRTH+FNTSY received ‘Best Dance’ and ‘The Discovery Award’ in Melbourne Fringe Festival 2013. Amy’s choreographic commissions include Private Dances with Phantom Limbs as part of the 2010 Next Wave Festival and Your Twenty Worst for Dance Card, Ausdance Vic.

Amy Macpherson's first full length solo work SOMA premieres in Melbourne Fringe Festival 19th - 26th September 2014, North Melbourne Town Hall - The Warehouse. Amy has joined KAGE for new work FORKLIFT. The company traveled to Helsinki, Finland to create the work at Cirko. The show combines choreography, contortion and aerial acrobatics on, and around, a working 2.5 tonne forklift. Images by Justin Berhaut.
